About Us
C_Quebe Suicide Awareness Foundation was founded in the wake of the heartbreaking loss of my youngest son who lost his life to suicide June 5th, 2020. He was a vibrant 26-year-old, he was an avid snowboarder, he loved music, reading, fitness and hiking. He graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Biochemical Engineer, May of 2019. It’s important to share who he was, not only because I am incredibly proud of him, but because through this journey, I came to realize how much I misunderstood the reality of suicide. I once believed it only affected a certain group of people, but I was painfully wrong. On the surface, my son seemed to have everything: a loving family, a close circle of friends, and a promising career. Yet, beneath that exterior, he was suffering in silence, fighting battles we never knew existed.
Every 11 minutes, someone dies by suicide, men are 3.5 times more likely to take their own lives. Suicide doesn’t discriminate—it affects people of all races, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, and ages.
